A basic introduction to the VW Hair Design Hair Extension course. Candidates will be assessed and recommended for workshop according to their personal ability.

This workshop is aimed at individuals new to the Hair Extension service or a hairdresser wanting to expand their existing hair extension knowledge/technique. Certificate awarded on completion of the course.

VW Hair Design - Cornrow and Braiding for Beginners

This course - which forms part of the beginner’s course for the hair extension workshop - is ideal for those wishing to learn basic braiding and cornrows techniques and styles. A basic knowledge of cornrow is a pre-requisite for the hair extension workshop.

For Hair professionals, Stylists, Students and those interested in a new career

Aimed at those who already have basic hair-care training and knowledge of cornrow, this course allows the professional to skip the theory and get straight to the techniques. This is a creative course, which will build the foundation to a profitable extension service.

Dates: 

Session One -  June 16,17 and 18th

Session Two -  June 23,24 and 25th

Session Three -  June 31st, July 1,2nd

Session Four - July 7,8 and 9th

Time:   9.30am till 4.30pm

Techniques candidates will learn to create include:

  • European and afro hair extensions
  • In depth consultation, including unusual and difficult hair types
  • Basic hair styles for a weave
  • Coverage for bald patches
  • Full and partial coverage of hair extensions
  • Undetectable closures
  • Volume and highlights using wefts
  • Colour matching hair
  • Recognising different types of hair and how they perform
  • How to tighten hair extensions
  • Removal and maintenance
